The Margins Room Story
Transforming Lost Souls into the Centre of the Story
These paintings are the result of my years of working with street communities in cities around the world. I have been deeply moved by the resilience and strength of these individuals, and I hope that my Jonno Whitby imagery will help to shed light on their lives and experiences.
I have chosen to focus on the faces of my subjects, as I believe that they are the most expressive and revealing part of their persona. Utilizing modern painting techniques, I have incorporated vibrant colours and bold brushstrokes to capture the energy and vitality of my subjects.
I hope that these paintings will challenge viewers to see street dwellers in a new light. They are not just statistics or problems to be solved; they are human beings with stories to tell and lives to live. By integrating photographic processes into my art, I aim to humanise street dwellers and make them more visible in our society.
